Where to find Rocket Launcher
Treat it as rare heavy weapon loot. Search only when the task list, safe route, or combat plan already sends the team toward weapon storage.

More decisions for Rocket Launcher
Decide whether the detour is worth it
Rocket Launcher is a route decision before it is a combat decision. Start with the High-Gnome task list and ask whether an explosive objective, a weapon-storage stop, or a known threat already takes the squad toward its likely search areas. If the answer is no, a rare heavy weapon can become an expensive distraction: every extra room costs daylight, separates the team, and delays the three tasks needed for a safe extraction. A launcher found on the planned line is valuable; a launcher pursued across the house without a task reason is usually greed.
Set a search limit before entering weapon storage. Check the containers and connected rooms that overlap another objective, then leave when that useful overlap ends. The current guide does not promise a fixed spawn or a guaranteed room. Treat missing loot as a signal to continue the run, not as proof that one more cabinet must contain the weapon.
Prepare the firing route before pickup
Before carrying the launcher into a live route, identify the target, the firing lane, the safe direction for teammates, and the exit used after the shot. Explosive equipment punishes improvised positioning. A doorway that looks clear can become crowded when a carrier backs up, a rescuer crosses the line, or a threat changes direction. Make the call while the squad still has cover and room to separate.
The launcher should not replace route awareness. Keep a normal escape available, avoid firing from a cramped hiding point, and do not let the whole squad gather behind the shooter. If the team cannot describe what the shot is meant to solve, save the weapon or leave it for a later objective rather than turning ordinary movement into an uncontrolled explosion test.
Use explosive control without breaking the team plan
In co-op, assign one player as shooter and one as route caller. The shooter controls aim and timing; the caller confirms that carriers and rescuers are clear, then names the next movement after the blast. Everyone else should know whether the goal is task credit, space to cross a room, or emergency threat control. One short countdown is more useful than several players shouting different targets.
Do not fire merely because a threat is visible. A loud, risky solution is justified only when it protects a completed objective, opens the planned route, or prevents a likely team loss. After the shot, move according to the call instead of standing still to inspect the result. The run is won by completing tasks and extracting, not by spending every dramatic item found in the house.
Compare safer alternatives when the launcher is missing
Gun and Shotgun offer different control choices when the route needs a conventional weapon, while Grenade can overlap with some explosive planning without demanding the same firing lane. None is an automatic replacement: compare the current objective, available inventory, room shape, and the team member who can use the item safely. A familiar weapon on the direct task route can be better than a rare launcher that requires a long search.
The best alternative may also be no weapon detour at all. Doors, furniture, hiding positions, and a coordinated retreat often solve route pressure while preserving time and carry slots. If three tasks are already secure, protect extraction rather than extending the run solely to upgrade the squad loadout.
Recover from mistakes and verify patch-sensitive behavior
If the launcher route goes wrong, stop adding risk. Call the nearest safe exit, account for every player, drop low-priority loot if movement is blocked, and decide whether the weapon is still worth carrying. Do not send a second player deeper simply to recover an optional item while the task carrier is already safe. A failed search is cheaper than a failed extraction.
Patch Sensitive: after an update, verify the displayed item name, pickup behavior, valid targets, task wording, and whether the shot behaves consistently in a low-value run. Record the game version and repeat the observation before treating it as a stable rule. This page intentionally avoids exact damage, blast radius, spawn probability, and timing claims until they can be supported by repeatable evidence.
